The problem
Layered bass patches partly cancel where the layers overlap in the mids. The sum gets thin and hollow, and it changes with every switch-up.
What Weld does
- Hears the other layer through the sidechain input.
- Fits polarity and up to four allpass sections: phase only, the layer sounds the same on its own.
- Shows what the cancellation cost and how much Weld recovered.
